Flagami Action Committee The Flagami Action Committee is a Civic/Community Organization founded by Barón DaParrée during the re-construction of Calle Ocho in 1998, this organization represents Citizens and Merchants in the Flagami Area from the Palmetto Expressway east to 37 Ave and from SW 16 Street to W Flagler Street. We are currently updating our files to serve you better and to keep you informed of any topics in our community which can impact the way we do business, please take a moment and answer the following questions. Barón DaParré a popular Photographer and community activist founded the Flagami Action Committee, in 1998 during the Re-Construction of SW 8 Street to assist merchants during the reconstruction serving as a liaison with Florida Department of Transportation, the City of Miami, the Merchants, its residents and the media. Barón was successful in working with these government organizations to assist the merchants. During these hard times the committee was able to improve the image of SW 8 Street, and the Flagami Area, attract and generate more business to the merchants, preventing loss of revenues and represent them in City and County State meetings where other merchants were not able to attend. Flagami Fiesta is a production of the Flagami Action Committee and Unity International Foundation Inc., with the collaboration of Miami-Dade County Commissioner Rebeca Sosa, City of Miami Mayor, Manny Díaz, City of Miami Commission Chairman, Thomás Regalado, Miami Flagami NET Director Fausto Callava and Miami Police area commander Manny Orosa.
